A slightly different kind of painting

Well, I haven't been in the studio much lately. We've been working hard trying to complete several projects on the house. As you can see from the "before" image, our old barn (142 years old) did need a bit of tender loving care. What you can't see in the photos is the extensive foundation and structural work we had done last fall. But now the reward is getting the old gal looking a bit better on the outside. We actually couldn't paint the ends ourselves - it required about a 40 foot ladder, so we had to hire that part out. However, we painted other portions of it.
The barn is three levels. This bottom level is where we usually stack the firewood for winter, and it could easily house a horse or two if we wanted. The next level up is a two car garage and large mudroom, which leads into the kitchen at the back of the house. And finally, the third level is currently where my studio resides and a large room that had been a workshop for the previous owner, and is now storage and a great play area for the grandkids. I've also been painting fences and lots of interior spaces. I'm itching to get back to the studio as soon as these projects are
finished!

The barn looks great! I like the classic red.

That old barn must have sucked up some serious paint!
